Pi Network team has reportedly shared a new security protocol to its users in China. When Chinese users sign in to the Pi Network app, they will be now greeted with a required video message. Some of the key challenging issues facing the Chinese region which are discussed in the video are:
- Mapping Delays: The video talks about the causes of the slow mapping migration in China.
- Security Risks: It underlines the security risk of swiping numbers and other possible offences.
- Wallet Safety: It is reminded to the users to take care of their wallet safety.
Also, the video points out that PiCoreTeam has not appointed any person or entity to act on their behalf. It is recommended to users to only use official channels to get information and assistance. This effort highlights the dedication of PiCoreTeam to provide more security and transparency in the Pi Network especially in areas where specific issues are presented.
In addition to the current concerns in security in China, users of the Pi Network all around the world are experiencing persistent problems after the release of the 1.41.0 version of the app, which took place on May 9, 2025. Although the update included small bugfixes, a lot of users were reluctant to install it, which led to missing Pi balances and 2FA errors that would occur repeatedly.
The still considerable issue is stuck coin migrations, where users have been waiting in Step 9 for months after doing all necessary procedures such as KYC and lock-up terms. It is creating frustration that some users are progressing and others are waiting and having no updates, questioning the transparency and similarity of the migration process throughout the Pi community.
